So sorry, since my last update on 31 July, I have been disappeared from blogging for an half month. Well, be honest I'm not really busy, just not in mood to blog, or may be more precise is that I'm out of idea on what to blog lately. I have been thinking and make a hard decision if I should just let amei79.blogspot.com to be a dead blog?
a
No, I don't willing to do so, this is not what I wanted; instead at least I must try the best to keep this blog active all the time, even though I may not able to update the blog as frequent as in the past. Yes...I will keep blogging!
a
I just finish read a book, "The Secret" by Rhonda Bryne last week. This book is recommended by many people, that why I have managed to buy one in March 08. Well, if never read this book, I will never know that the secret mentioned in this book is all about "The Laws of Attraction" (吸引力法则), which I have heard bout it quite some time ago.
a
How true is the "Laws of Attraction" in playing a role in determining our fate and life? I'm not really sure, but I can't deny that this "secret" sometime does work, for an example sometime we are thinking of and just mentioned some one's name who we have lost contact for a long time, and what a coincidence, we have meet him or her just within a short moment! Have you experienced this before?
a
My words toward this book, "The Secret":
1. "The Laws of Attraction" is actually all about to encourage us to think positively instead of negatively. I think this is the only lesson I learnt from this book as "positive thinking" is the only point mentioned in all chapters repeatedly.
2. For me, it seem like teach us to be "day-dreaming" what we wanted and what we wishing for all the time; because of in the book, the author asked us to keep thinking on the thing(s) we dream for, and try to imagine that we have already achieved that particular thing(s), the universe will receive our strong signal & desire on that thing(s) and it will make us dream (wish) come true sooner or later. Any action or effort required instead of just thinking? Not mentioned in the book at all, so it seem quite misleading.

There's nothing really new in The Secret if you already know about The Law Of Attraction. The author Rhonda just repackaged the theory in a different way so as to attract readers and she is successful at that.
In my opinion, you need to have the right frame of mind/belief before you take any action, and you must take action because just simply sit and wishing for things won't make it come to you.
But if you take action without believing that you are receiving it, you won't get what you desire. So in other words, the mind is more important than the action.
The Secret is the latest and by far the worst example of a HIGHLY profitable trend where self-help gurus with fabricated new age titles and little relevant education, credentials or legitimate expertise brainwash us into believing that they know what is best for us, our marriages and our families.
Often their only contribution to society is introducing some exotic sounding, new age philosophy. However, they often cleverly form an incestuous group of like-minded “experts” who cross-promote each other by swearing their success is due to following the beliefs of another member of their “cult!” All the while, they ply the airwaves jockeying for an ever-larger audience by appearing in the national media to garner third-party endorsements.
The Self-Help Movement has become the Self-Destruct Movement by diminishing or destroying our critical thinking skills to choose and evolve on our own. We have given up the freedom to build healthy lives, marriages and families based on our unique history and life experience. Instead many victims, blinded to the value of their own life experiences, are attracted to the latest secret in self-help, in an attempt to find out what they should think, feel and how they should act... this is the definition of a cult.
The solution is a return to our (common) senses! The best way out of this learned “self-helplessness” is to go cold turkey. Stop following ALL self-help gurus now. Begin, instead, to reclaim your natural, God-given ability to think for yourself. The common sense that was once readily available to all of us is still there free of charge and waiting to be applied to just about any challenge we might face in life… all you have to do is use it.
Please, let's all work together to stop the flock of "sheepeople" who blindly move from one UNPROVEN concept to the next, looking for the answers to life's challenges that you already possess and that is the OBVIOUS!
misleading? ahh.. i hav heard bout it too but i havent read it myself..
but i am thinking to watch the movie of law of attraction . hav u watch it?
I realized why some people achieved their goals but some don’t. If you think you want something, then it will depend on how eager you want it. Some are just too afraid to change, and some are too lazy. A very good example from the book, imagine you are now driving a car from location A to location B in a very dark night. Where your vehicle lights are only bright enough for you to see things within 200 metres. Will you continue the journey? Of course, right? It is because we know that when we move 200 metres forward, we will then see another 200 metres!
everyone have different understanding after reading the book, i'm not surprise some will understand it in a negative way~
didnt read the book, but watched the dvd... i thought it was quite mind blowing and impactful :)
did apply it in my life... (and still needs to reinforce) again.
if i can add, like bb said, its really how much we want it to be... we will find our solutions thereafter :)
many ppl read this book,
i also wanna go to read dy... :)
The secret has been around for ages. The prophets down through the ages have been telling us how the universe works but most of us choose to interpret incorrectly.
"Ask and ye shall receive."
We're not down here to be part of some big test. We're not down here to pass, and go to heaven. We're here to experience, and thus allow God to experience. To do that, the smart bugger has put together a complex reality that is dedicated to meeting our wishes.
It works. I've seen it.
