I Am Back for Blogging

So sorry to all my readers for no update lately. I'm just returned from Phuket Island Trip on 17/7 and start report duty on 18/7. Unfortunately, I received a call from a doctor said that there be a foreign worker medical check-up at Batu Niah the next day morning at 10A.M (19/7) . Well, even this is a business, but not a good news for me...will tell you why later.
a
So I had a long drive (roughly 80KM from Miri Town) to Batu Niah on 19/7 morning at around 9:00A.M and reached there at sharp 10:00A.M. I drove back to Miri immediately once I finished my works at around 11:15A.M as I have another activity in Brunei. I reach Miri at around 12:00P.M.
a
I had my another long drive from Miri to Brunei (around 200KM) at 2:00PM. I went there with Fern, her sister in-law & her 5 years old nephew. Well, of course I went there for work and they went there for fun. We back to Miri the next day (20/7) afternoon (3:00P.M). Do you know, the next day early morning (6:30A.M on 21/7) I have to go to Batu Niah for a medical check-up with a doctor again, and back to Miri already 6:00P.M. I really tired.
a
I have mentioned in my earlier post entry that even though I travelling so often, after each travelling, I found myself abit messy and loss focus in everything (include daily life, work, and etc), so I need some time to settle down & rest my "emotion" & "soul" before I'm really back to the position. I'm now still not really in mood to surf Internet or blog......I will have to stop at here, will post up my Phuket Island Trip very soon, hopefully....thanks & good night!

Know or Don't Know

My Words:

There must be a reason why an incident is happening; and the other way round, there must be at least a reason why we DO or DON'T do somethings.
a
Please try to recall & analyse, if there any thing that you do it without any reason, or you don't know the reason? Or may be you know the reason, but the known reason seem not a reason?
a
Ya, very often we do something without knowing the "why"? We DO because of other people DO, and we DON'T because of other people DON'T! In short we just simply and blindly follow other people "foot step", without knowing the real reason. When time past by, all practices will slowly become part of the custom and culture in our daily life. So here goes an interesting story:
a
One day, a young guy is observing his mother cooking the fishes. Suddenly a "?" came into his mind, so he asked his mum curiously: " Why mum always chop off the fish's head & tail before cook it? " His mum answered: "I don't know why, but my mum, your grandmother practices this too." So the young guy go to approach his grandma and asked: " Why before cook the fish, we must chop off its head & tail?" Grandma said: " I have no idea, I just follow what my mum did." Luckily, the young guy's grand-grandmother still alive, so he still got the chance to ask his grand-grandmother on this matter. Grand-grandmother told him that:" Oh, this is because of last time, we were too poor to buy a pan which enough big to cook a fish, so we have to chop off the head & tail!"
a
Or sometime we have the wrong perception on why we DO and why we DON'T! Just like in the dialog above, Fern though that fasten the seat belt in a running car is to prevent from getting compound by traffic police, while the real & main reason is for safely! Another good example is that when we ask someone to be smart in using the plan A4 paper, and to re-use the used A4 paper which has one page blank. They will answer us that no point to save the paper, they are afford to buy another ream...Well, our main objective is to go-green & recycle (environmental protection).
a
Don't know what we knew & understood is actually a wrong perception is so un-worthwhile; Don't know what we have knew and don't know what we don't know are both awesome! To make sure we have a right perception & understanding on something, we must kine to learn & ask at anytime & anyplace.

Different Experiences

I noticed that there are some things changes on myself lately.
a
I sweat easily even though I only have limited body movements whenever I'm in a high humidity & poor ventilation room (with fan switched on at low speed). Of course you may think that this is a logic and common thing; for me, i rarely experience this before hence I never complain even I'm in a room with no fan, I can adapted to such environment very well.
a
And very often about few hours after I shower, my body will start becomes a bit sticky and smelly, even though I don't sweat! The odour from the armpits is even worst, although there are some improvements after the used of the deodorant, it sometime does makes me feel uncomfortable & embarrassing too.
a
I breath hardly and my body movements seem clumsy & less agile when I'm in a sitting or meditative position. Between I found that after a long period of over & over washing processes all my pants seem shrinking in the size, especially at the waist part . How can a jean pant also can be shrunk in the size?
............
a
a
Okie, I must face facts, yes~~~I'm gaining weight day by day, month by month, and year by year, but disagree I'm getting fatter & fatter! I still maintain the fit & athletic body type so far [ less perfect one lah of course... -_-''' ], just my tummy abit embossed (凸起).
a
I can't believe that since I came to work in Miri in year 2004 til now year 2008, I have gain body weight of 13KG, i.e from the 65KG increased to 78KG! And yet the major part of the body weigth increment seem started to happen within this one year back...~sigh~
a
You see, I yet getting plump, fat or obese, I just gaining body weight alone. Despite it has brings me an inconvenience and lots of troubles. So I just wonder how suffer and torture are them, I meant those fat & obese people who having health alert & heavy body weigth to bear; in the meantime have to be tolerate to those bad mouths & sarcastic words. In short they are definitely experienced the physical & mental torturing. So please never try to sneer at or gossiping on those people who are less perfect than us from the physical or other aspects, and try to cheer them up!

Impacts of Petrol Price Hike ( 3 )

a
a
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a
My Words:
a
When you say it, mean it please, which in Mandarin it means "言行一 致 "; or else please just keep the mouth shut and don't bluff!
a
Actually "they" have their point, after the fuel price hike incident, to reduce the expenses on the fuel we must change the lifestyle by go for car sharing or take a public bus which is more econimic compare to drive and pay the bills alone, or try to stay at home if you have no need to go outside.
a
The problem is when the fuel price hike comes, it not come alone, it brings its gangs to visit us too, this is what we called "chain effect" --- the price increase in the food & drink, groceries, and other goods. So we have to further change the lifestyle again? Eat less rice, meat & vegetable and eat more instant noodles as a replacement? No, instant noodles also increase in the price; then eat bread? No, bread not only increase in the price, shrinken in the size too......between no point to harm our health just because of wanna save money!
a
If we have the wealth as much as "you" have had now, we have no worry and will suggest the same (change lifestyle) to those who have low income too and to those we always claim that money no enough, as it is almost too easy and relax --- "we say it, don't mean it"!
Impacts of Petrol Price Hike ( 2 )
A
A
A
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A
My Words:
Hey this is not really a joke! I experienced this one upon my part time at Petronas Station. Of course that liar driver is not me, but I'm the idiot who has been cheated! : (
a
Here is the story: The liar van driver order Super for a full tank. When the fuel price on the display screen ran almost to RM50 plus, he instructed me to stop filling the fuel immediately and asked me why I fill Super but not Diesel? He also asked me that, you don't know how to listen & differentiate the engine's sound? He even claimed that by just listen to the engine's sound I should know this van is using which type of fuel (Super or Diesel)! [ Can we? I'm not really so and I'm wonder if an experienced mechanic able to do this? ]
a
He later called a towing service company to pull his car to the nearest workshop, and said that he will come back soon with the receipts, as I will need to pay all the service and maintenance charges for him......of course, at the last, he never turn up with the receipts......My colleague (a female) saw him had lunch alone at a "KopiTiam" with the van parked infront the Cafe...anyway the tow truck is not in the scene!
a
Do you know how to differentiate a petrol car from a diesel car? Well, as I know, the engine of a petrol car needs a "spark plug" to ignite the combustion of the fuel (petrol), while a diesel car needs none ( this is the only different I knew so far ). You must know this if you are a car thief, or else you will never can drive far if the car that you have stold is out of fuel as you don't know if petrol or diesel to fill the tank?

Don't Subsidise Fuel, Don't Tax Cars

Yesterday I received an email from my eldest brother. It was an article (news paper cutting) with the title "Don't Subsidise Fuel, Don't Tax Cars" by Jimmy Wah (Bayan Lepas, Penang). Jimmy wrote this article to voice out his opinions (unsatisfactory) on the Dzof Azmi's arguement in "Fueling Trouble with Petrol Subsidises"!
a
a
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a
My Words:
a
Quote from Dzof Azmi: ......In fact, petrol in Malaysia is cheaper than in Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. (The only country in the region where it is less expensive is Brunei, where it’s at just above RM1 per litre.) Still think it’s expensive? Consider this: Crude oil is currently priced at more than US$100 (RM322) per barrel. Now, you can calculate how much this would cost per litre in RM. Go ahead, do it......
Why gov & BN supporters like to use this comparison to fool the "rakyat"? No doubt that "rakyat" will never be so offensive & willing to accept the fuel price even if it is RM4 (or more) per litre if Brunei is the only country that produce the petroleum in the region. Yet Brunei is not only has cheapest fuel price, but car tax free; other countries in the region have cheaper car tax too . So how gov is going to explain this? Well, obviously they will say that the car tax imposed on the foreign cars is to protect the national cars' local market. The sad is with the fuel price hike, the market & sale of the national cars will shrinken too......
a
One thing that I still so confuse & curious about is when the global crude oil price is keep increasing, why Malaysia as a crude oil producer & exporter feel so worry? Isn't the Petronas can make more profits from the exportation of the crude oil? During the blog hopping, whenever I saw the post(s) related to the issue of "fuel price hike", I'll left a similiar comment sound like "Gov exports the local good quality fuel to the foreign countries to make profits, imports the low quality fuel from the foreign countries for local usage, to pollute the air & to harm the local people health. When global crude oil price increased, gov makes more profits from the exportation that only benefit certain parties; the costs increased from the importation to share fairly among all the "rakyat"...".
a
Anyway the above is my own statement & opinion, I don't know if the thing is really goes this way or whatever --- the fact is, even though Pak Lah has announced that follow the fuel price hike, to reduce the burden of the so called "rakyat", they can claim the cash rebate (e.g vehicle below 2000cc, RM625) upon road tax renewal at Pos Office. However, this "political candy" seem haven't yet to calm down "rakyat's" fury emotion; they keep criticizing on the gov's decision to increase the fuel price, some more gov may float the fuel price accorden the global market & may remove the petrol subsidise in coming Aug 08. [ I'm sure some of the "rakyat" still feel comfortable with the "fuel price hike", as they think that this is the best BN has did for them! ] --- Tomorrow Be A Better Day, Cheers!!!
Stress Over The Money
I'm wondering why lately I feel that the "Money" suppress me hard & harder till I can't breath smoothly! Do I gain more & more money now-a-day which make it heavier & heavier? No, I don't! My income still remain the same and my money get lesser & lesser day by day instead...then why I have that feeling? I'm stress over the money I guess?!! ~ Sigh ~
a
a
The price of the rice has just been revised not long ago in June 08 and the increment is almost 70-100%. Well, so far I found that most blogger only blog on the "Petrol Price Hike", only few blogger found to blog on the "Rice Price Hike". Huh? why no one voice out their complain? Hmm, I'm wondering of most Malaysian do not eat rice or have their meal(s) without rice now a day? I have no idea, maybe only the rice price in Sarawak has been increased or Malaysians concern more on petrol than rice? Anyway it was a big shock for those who eat rice as a main staple. Most of the Miri citizen went to the supermarket & hypermarket to shop for the rice as many as they could crazily last few days, until the related authority has announced that each consumer is only allowed to buy the max of 2 packs of rice per purchase yesterday in the press.
a
a
Petrol price hike! Pak Lah has announced that the petrol price is revised from RM1.91 to RM2.70 with effect 5 June 08, which increased by RM0.78 or 41%. This was the 2nd big shock to all Malaysians who owned a bike or vehicle or more! Pak Lah also announced that government is going to float the fuel price in accordance with the global market price in August 08, is it a good news or bad news? Well with this tactics the petrol price can be rised up to RM4 or above according to the news! Now all people claimed that we are affordable to buy a car, but unaffordable to buy the petrol to "feed" the it. So what should we do? Buy a bicycle and use the bus "No 11" for short distance traveling? ( I will suggest my boss can float my salary accordance with the global market too, with the min RM2,000 and no max limit ... just kidding! )
a
[ Are you also in the long Q to fill your car's tank before the petrol price "climb" up to RM2.70 after 4/6 midnight? Honestly I did, I'm in the long Q for 1 hour (22:45 - 23:45P.M) ! Anyway I'm there to take the closest photo on the scene in Shell Petrol Station for blogging purpose at the beginning, not to fill the tank. Since I have been in the Q for almost 15 minutes, Fern suggests me just fill the tank even though still full. So at the end as estimated, only RM13.50 of petrol pump into the tank. ]
a
a
Have you do a health screening or blood tests before? Do you believe in "Laboratory Testing Price Hike"? For your information, my company (private healthcare group) has just launched its new price list (which will take effect on 1 June 08) end of May 08, so all marketing staffs (of course include myself) are urged by the management to inform the clinics under the coverage within 31 May. I'm shocked when go through the new price list thoroughly, the price of the lab tests are increased by 20% to more than 100%! OMG, how should I expect GP doctors and customers willing to accept this "surprise" if myself still not ready for the change?
a
Luckily, I'm always being so lucky, Miri GP doctors listen my explanations calmly with good understanding; Unlike other marketing staffs who got shoot or bomb by GP doctors. Anyway, doctors always have more then one choice, there are many other laboratories that providing the same services, e.g Gribbles, Pathlab and etc, which recently still selling the lab tests at cheap old rate. Of course my company have an advantage against the other local labs, by which our group is accredidated with ISO15189 (which recognize internationally) by Department of Standard Malaysia, this is the strong point to gain doctors' continuous support.
a
The problem is that we are not the ONLY one, Gribbles also accredidated with ISO15189. These are the only two labs accredidated with ISO15189 in full scopes (Chemical Pathology, Cytophatology, Histopathology, Hematology, Medical Microbiology, and Virology) in Malaysia so far. The existence of single potential competitor like Gribbles is enough to cause me an serious headache. I'm so tension now, as I'm sure my monthly lab sale performance will drop dramatically in the recent month, next month & onward if other labs still remain unchanged in their pricing. Will I lose my career soon?
a
You know what? Today I heard people said that the cooking oil will rise in the price too by tomorrow, by 50% increment. I have visited few supermarkets to observe the condition after work, well terrible...only few bottles of cooking oil remain on the racks! Some said that they have called Miri Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Department (DTCA, 美里贸消部) for clarification and DTCA has denied on the price increment in the cooking oil. So is it just a hearsay or a truth?
a
Perhaps you know why am I stress over the money now, because of I'm having the "Vitamin-M malabsorption" disorder. The main symptoms of the disorder are:
1. complaining of money no enough all the time
2. weak immunity to against the rised in daily expenditures
3. phobia to the price hike in all aspects
a
Vitamin-M insufficiency reminds me on the "M-Shaped Society" (M型社會) too, which is an observation put forward by the Japanese business strategist and writer Kenichi Ohmae. According to this theory, only 2 societies exist: the "Rich Society" who comprised of 10% rich men who monopolized the 90% of the worldwide wealth and the "Poor Society" who comprised of 90% of the poor men who shared the another remaining 10% of the worldwide wealth (The "Intermediate Society" has extincted! ) The economic & social gaps among these 2 societies becomes greater & greater over the time. So which society are you in?
What The Problem Is?
Recently I encountered some errors while searching internet & doing the blog hopping. I'm sorry that I'm an IT idiot which have no idea what goes wrong & how to rectify the error. It really annoying and make me so frustrated & pissed off......
a
The error is that when I tried to head on a link from a web page, it just can't bring or load me into the page linked, it showed me a pop-up message as shown in the picture below instead:
a
" A Runtime Error has occured. "
Do you wish to debug?
Line: 9
Error: "console" is undefined
a
a
If I hit the "NO" button, the same pop-up message will appear again & again whenever the cursor is move over the same link or image. It does happen too when I wanna drop a comment whilst doing blog hopping, the error occured when I hit any key on the keyboard over the same column. If I hit the "YES" button, it shows me another pop-up message "Just In-Time Debugging", ask if I wanna debug using the selected debugger (New instance of Microsoft Script Editor)?
a
Click "YES" it brings me the the Microsoft Script Editor as shown in the picture below. I'll need to hit "BREAK" to continue. Huh? Kidding me, all the contents are just look alike the HTML, JavaScript or other codes which I'm not familiar of. Really kanasai le......sigh!
As you can see in the image below, a line "console.log(e.keyCode)..." in the MSE is highlighted in yellow, I guess this would be the coding error that need to be debug? Can some one tell me what wrong with this codes? And how to correct it? Between, can some one tell me whose error or fault is it? Is my PC lack of certain program(s) that supporting the script data or the other parties has had the wrong coding in their page that can't be read correctly? Can some body who is IT expert kindly guide me on how get rid of this errors? Thanks in advance ya...:)
Things that Addictive to Me
High Speed
a
a
When I just past my driving test, I only drove at the average speed of 50KM/hour, I don't dare to drive beyond this speed, as I afraid I will lost my control on the steering. Few months later, I drove at the average speed of 80KM/hour which is still considered as too fast for me; And now, the speed of 80KM/hour and above seem is too slow to me. I always wish to drive at at least 100KM/hour and above, but I can't; not because of I don't dare or I'm scared, it is because of the majority of the road conditions not allow me to do so! The fastest speed I ever drove in my Myvi is 140KM/hour, I make it on the free highway from Miri to Bintulu. I'm so excited over the high speed & the sound from the car's engine accelerates my heartbeats......Anyway, I try not to do so whenever more than one person in a car...or if drive alone, I will make sure I'm not only drive fast, but drive right and drive safely.
a
Exercise
a
a
Ya, is "exercise", not a typo error! This happen when I'm studied in USM, Health Campus, which located in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. We used to called this place "古板可怜", which is quite bore with no much entertainments. So the only thing I can do after lectures or during the free time is either sleeping or exercise. I went for jogging or play badminton every evening after 5:30P.M. I found that once I have jog for so regularly, I just can't skip it even for a single day; I felt so disappointed & started to complain whenever the raining day came. So I played badminton as a replacement, or will just wait the rain to stop. I jogged 5 to 7.5KM everyday along the run-way around the campus's golf court, which one round roughly equal to 2.5K.M. If you don't believe one can addicted to the exercise or sport, you can have a try, and worth to try! So why not?a
a
Alcoholic Drinks
a
a
Do you drink alcoholic drinks like beer, liquor, wine and etc? Or have you try one before? If you never try an alcoholic drink before, you will never know how it tastes alike. According to alcoholic drinkers, those who are new to the alcoholic drinks (e.g beers) will feel that it was a bit bitterness in its taste for the first few tries; but when time past & you keep drink the beers for a certain period, he or she will later found that the beers are actually sweet tasting. And this is the time you started or have totally addicted to the beers. Never try never know, but better you don't try, as alcoholic drinks can be harmful to our liver and kidney. I do drink socially but I try the best to not buy myself any alcoholic drink, so I only drink if it is FOC......:) So please don't tempt me......
a
Gambling
a
a
There are so many gambling or betting activities out there for your choice, like buying the digits either at Sports Toto, Magnum4D or Cash Sweep, or "under-ground bodies", or via online (e.g www.bs88.com), football betting, playing card, casino and etc. One may easily get addicted to the gambling habit if he or she has won the game in the first few tries. You should know that some events like playing cards or watching football matches alone are already interesting & exciting enough, what more if you can make some money from the games? What worst is human believed in luck and they are greedy, so once they won, they will keep on gambling by invest bigger amount of money with the only hope to win back more money. [ FYI, those who are new to gambling, normally they are more likely to win in the games, as they are still "pure" in the heart & thinking, they play for fun; later they are unlikely to win the games, as their heart & thinking is "polluted", they play for money! ] Luckily I'm a human, hence I believed in luck too, so I have finally choose to play those games for fun only............the reason is I never be good luck in gambling in the past...:pa
a
Junk Foods
a
a
Although I'm high health conscious, I'm in health care industry and knew that the junk foods may content some sort of colouring, chemical additives and etc which can be harmful to our healths or bodies, I just can't resist the temptation of eating those delicious junk foods like cutter fish slices, crispy potato chips, crackers & snacks, biscuits, wafer cakes and etc. It is so "syiok" with the junk foods accompany me all the times whenever I'm reading book or watching TV & DVD, it keep my mouth exercising. I'm gaining weight now-a-day, and so sad that most of the pants no longer fit to my waist. I hope I can stop eating these "rubbish" foods one day and I'm trying hard not to buy any junk foods now, but the mission seem failed, as I found that I have more excuses & reasons to buy & eat junk foods since I try to say "NO" to the junk foods! ~Sigh~
Cursed SMS vs One Miss Call
Recently, there is a hot hearsay which has been spreaded widely via the SMS. The SMS is sent with the purpose to remind or warn the public that recently there is an Indonesian created a cursed SMS or call with an intention to test the effectiveness of his / her so called "black magic" (curse). According to SMS, it warned that never answer any phone call with phone numbers of 4 weird digits (0666 or 0888) and with a red screen beyond 10:00P.M. Or else the person who has answered the call will die unexpectedly......it sound so scary!
a
a
Anyway, don' t be too panic or worry, as now I'm go to announce, the film director Takashi Miike called me personally said that he is currently filming the horror movie "One Miss Call III", so if you do received such SMS or phone call with a red screen, please do not answer the call or read the SMS or please just ignore it, as you are not in the his actor or actress's list. Or else, please do so at your on risk (you have been warned, you will have to bear the consequence with full responsibility!).......:p
a
a
Curse of SMS or phone call? Wow, it sound unbelieveable! Curse? It reminds me the black magics or witchcraft owned by the Malay & most of the Bumiputera in Malaysia (e.g Iban, Bidayuh...etc), by the used of certain kinds of supernatural or magical power. All these while, the curses or witchcrafts are the traditional practices, but now they have become so advance and can be practiced or deliveried to the victims via the high technology devices like handphones? Perhaps the programming experts should work harder, not only on the anti-virus, anti-spam, or anti-spyware programs and etc, but also on the new anti-curse program? lolz
a
You see, most times the dramas or movies play an important role as the teaching materials. If the above hearsay is true, I guess the movie "One Miss Call" have gave the said Indonesian wizard a bad idea to delivery the curses or spells via the handphones! Well, do you believe in the existance of the curse, black magic or witchcraft?
MAS vs AirAsia
With Effect 1 May 08 (if not mistaken), Malaysia Airline (MAS) is launching their "Everyday Low Fares" project, and started offer free seat at RM0.00 (exclude the tax) which similiar to what AirAsia is doing. They have advertised this promotion on the TV channels, local newspapers & etc lately, so I'm sure you have heard about it. You can always log in their website for further & latest informations.
a
This would be a good news to all of us, especially those who travelling oftenly, as now we have more than one option. Huh? Why I say like this? Well, if you are not a person who rich enough or a person who willing to spend extra money, certainly MAS won't be one of your option to travel with in the past, unless you have no choice; and no doubt AirAsia would be the only & the first choice to you. Since MAS also launching their so called "low fare" airline services now, so would you still need some time to consider & hesitate whether to fly with MAS or not?
a
aa
The next day, AirAsia has noticed the great competition & challenge fast enough, and has gave an immediate response to fight back its competitor, MAS. I heard some people said that part of the seats which the air fares were at RM69.xx at the 1st attempt, but it seem has been re-adjusted to RM39.xx. when 2nd attempt was made 30 minutes later.
a
Do you see the image below, which I adopt from AirAsia's website? They claimed that "AirAsia, the true low fare airline, provides the lowest fares for all flights in our extensive route network, both domestic and international. We boast a spanking new aircraft fleet, great in-flight food and friendly service without compromising on our safety standards. You have to admit, it’s a bargain! Smart consumers know the difference. Get your calculator out and start doing the math. Calculators don't lie. "
a
The CEO, Dato' Tony Fernandes even said that, we welcome you to approach us to have a refund for the extra money spent, if you found that the air-ticket (AirAsia) that you have bought is more expensive than the MAS one (same destination)! e.g: MAS vs AirAsia = RM68 vs RM88, AirAsia happy to refund you RM20! Isn't it sound great?
a
a
So what do you think? Which Airline you prefer to fly with, MAS or AirAsia? When you are making a decision on which airline to use, you are actually make a choice between the "cost effectiveness" & "time effectiveness" . Of course for those who care more on the money, even if only save RM0.01, they will still choose the AirAsia.
Mind me to remind you? AirAsia has the higher risk of delay in the flight schedules. If let say you can make RM20 per hour, delay of flight departure time for may be only 1 hour may cause you loss RM6.50 (RM20.00 - RM13.50)! Can you image how much will you lost if you are a success businessman, or know well speaker who able to earn RM100 or above per hour? How about if you are rushing time to deal with a business or big project with a value of RM10,000 or more? Would you mind to loss a big amount of money just to save that RM13.50? Is it worth?
Anyway, for me there is not much different between MAS & AirAsia' services, even though MAS claimed that they provide 5 stars airline services. The only disadvantage of flying with AirAsia is that you may need to walk so far from the air-craft to the terminal building under the hot sun (raining day) upon arrived.
Lastly, MAS & AirAsia has makes most people dream come true, with " Everyday Low Fares", "Now Everyone Can Fly"!!! Isn't it great?
You Decide to Stay or Quit
I have work with my recent company for 4 years long (since 1st April 2004). I still remember, just few months after I joined this company, I talked to my self that, I won't stay here long, perhaps max 1 year! The main reason is I'm not really interested in marketing life. But wow, the time flies, without my conscious, and I even can't belief that I have been here for that long already, 4 years! Huh! I'm still here after 4 years??? ~Sign~
a
Within these 4 years time, I have saw many staffs come in & go out the company (when is my turn? hihi), the rate of the staffs' turn-over seem is abit high compare to other companies which under the same industry field. What is / are the reason(s) for the high staffs' turn-over rate? I have no idea, but I guess it might certainly has a close relation to the staffs' employee benefits:
a
1. Salary Revision
I had my first salary increment After the 6 months probation period. After that, I have my salary increment every year, but till recent year my net salary still not much higher compare to the salary of last 3 years. You know why? As at the first year of work, company offered me RMY of basic salary + RM2X of outstation allowance; In 2nd year, management has increased my basic salary to RMY + RMX, in the same time the allowance reduced to RMX; Whislt in the 3rd year, my basic salary has been revised to RMY + RM2X, without any allowance; this year (last month), my basic salary remain the same, management gave me RMX of allowance. Does it mean my basic salary will be revised to RMY + RM3X with no allowance in the nex year? Can you catch what I meant? Anyway, I have to admit that, the salary offered is highest compare to other competitors.
a
2. End Year Bonus
First year, I received one month bonus from the management. According to the senior staffs, this being the first time they had the 1 month bonus! The following year, management announced that, staffs' bonus to determined by few factors, e.g sale performance, no of day of annual leaves taken...etc. So in the 2nd & 3rd year of work, I received bonus of 5 digits, with a "." after the 1st 3 digits, and the 1st digit is not more than 3......Can you imagine? Why should annual leaves to be listed as one of the factors that decide our bonus? Isn't sound like we used our bonus to buy the annual leaves?!! And this year, no news at all...... ~ Sigh ~
a
3. Annual Leave
Of course like other private companies, we have annual leave entitlement after the 6 months probation period. If we failed to claim all the annual leave, it will be burnt, as neither bring forward to the next year nor claim for money is not allow. Just end of year 2007, I have been informed by HR that staffs are not allow to take more than 3 days leave within a month...Oh shit, how if I wanna have a long vacation in the foreign countries? To apply for the un-pay leave?!!
a
4. Working Hours
Most of the staffs have to work 6 days a week, depent on the area, the operating hours listed below:
Monday - Friday : 8:00A.M to 5:00P.M
Saturday aaaaaaa: 8:00A.M to 1:00P.M
Sunday aaaaaaaa : 8:00A.M to 12:00P.M
Holidays* aaaaaa : Close (12 days a year)
Can you see, us as a employee have to tender majority part of our times to work for the company' s good. It is quite tired. Good news is, with effect 1st May 08, Miri outlet to be close on the Sunday. And management has managed to added another 4 1/2 days public holidays** (operating hours: 8:00A.M to 1:00P.M) to all the outlets
a
Remark:
(*)a -- New Year Day, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Christmas Day, Birthday of Agong, Birthday of TYT, National Day, Labour Day, Gawai Festival
(**) -- Awal Muharam, Hari Raya Haji, Birthday of Prophet Muhammad, Good Friday
White Bread vs Brown Bread
Lately, due to the increased in the price of the raw material (flour), follow is the price revision in to the flours manufactured products like noodles & breads or buns.
a
However according to the newspaper, the noodle' hawkers in Miri didn't manage to increase the selling price of the dry noodle (mi kering) even though the price of the noodle has increased another RM0.40/KG; as they claimed 1KG of noodle roughly can produce 8 plates of "mi kering", which equivalent to RM0.05 increased in the cost price per plate of noodle, which still considered as a very little increment, not burden much.
a
Anyway, most of the baker shops in miri have started to increase the selling price of the white bread (白面包), from the current rate of RM1.90 to RM2.50 without the acknowledge the Miri Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Department (DTCA, 美里贸消部). The following day, DTCA has gave a comment & warning in the local press, that they have no doubt to take action (to be fined or jailed) on those baker shops who take it upon oneself to increase the price of the white bread.
a
Do you know what is happening after the soft warning by DTCA in the local press? One of the baker shop in Mosjaya area, Miri has mixed some sort of colouring during the baking process, to produce a brown bread (黑面包), which has the same taste as the white bread. But they have more "value", as the selling price is at RM2.60 each.
a
a
A package of Brown Bread
a
a
Close look of a piece of brown bread
So all the white breads on the racks have been replaced by the new brown breads. The owner of the baker shop is honest, he told Fern's mum that he have no choice, since DTCA not allow to increase the price of the white bread, he will just has to change the look, turn it into a brown bread. Perhaps now can stop DTCA from making any noise. I don't know if this is the only baker shop which apply this strategy to protect their own profits? As I know, the price of the white bread has remain at RM1.90 each at most of the baker shops.
From the above case, we learn that those who are creative & innovative, and those who not blindly follow or obey to the fixed rules of the game normally are closer to the door of success, and they can survised longer compared to those who are stiff & conservative!
I Shop, I Think, I Learn at PIKOM
The PIKOM PC fair was held in Miri Indoor Stadium on 18/4 - 23/4. My colleague, Beatrix said that there is a laptop sell at quite reasonable rate, she wants to buy one for her brother, Bryan. I never manage to have a visit though, anyway at last I were there too on the last day of PC fair, as her statement really make me tempted...~Sigh~
a
Hmm...there was really "People Mountain People Sea" (crowded with people). I'm not interest in those people, so I & Fern just busy with our own business by seeking high & low, to search out the laptop mentioned by Beatrix earlier. Finally we found it, it was at the corners of Boulevard IT. By right, Beatrix & Bryan were there too, awaiting their new laptop to arrive from the warehouse.
a
a
Okie, the laptop was ACER Aspire 4715Z, at the net price of RM1,999. As you can read on the label:
~ Intel Pentium dual-core processor T2370 (1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 1 MB L2 Cache)
~ 14.1" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD
~ Windows Vista Home Basic
~ Up to 252 MB Mobile Intel Graphic Media Accelerator X3100
~ 1 GB DDR2
~ 120 GB HDD
~ DVD-Super Multi DL
~ 802.11 b/g WLAN
Well, they had 2 promo-package A & B. Package A free one Lexmark Printer, sorry forgot which model, never mind, I'm not interest in it. So Package B been chosen ( ha~ha~ I bought one too mah), the cheap free gifts (the price label not been remove) that inclusive in the package are 2GB PenDrive, Optical Mouse, Cooler Pack, Screen Cleaner Pack, Software (which enable PC read your face as a password to log in), & DiGi RM50 Post-paid package (So shit! Been cheated, the promotion with free line registration which available at anytime & anywhere also count as free gift???)
a
Just noticed that the Processor is only Pentium 1.73 GHz, would it be too out-dated? With the 1GB DDR2, can it help any in the speed? Between the laptop seem takes too much time on log-in and shut-down the windows. ~Sigh~ a I have to admit that I'm an IT idiot; I'm so -dated in those high & advance technology stuffs. I never can tell neither the latest HP model of Nokia, Sony-Ericson, Motorola nor Samsung. Be honest, the latest Nokia HP model I knew is just up to N95. a I don't know there is a thing called PDA, until my office boy bought one quite sometime ago; I Don't know there is a thing called GameBoy, until Fern's nephew (only primary school) bought one in Nov 07; I don't know there is a thing called mp3 modulator for car, until I bought one (RedFox branded) on 23 April 08... :p
Can you imagine, whenever the promoter tell that this is better and that is good, this is latest and that is newt, this is worth & that is cheap, this is more advance than that and blah~blah~blah~~~I can only react like an idiot, with limited response like "Oh", "Ya", "Ok", "Is It?", "I know", "I understand"......So at the last, I buy this and not buy that because of the promoter ask me to buy this not to buy that mah...lolz. I'm just like a piece, under other's control.
Or I just practice the "Monkey See Monkey Do" strategy, follow others tails (steps), I buy what they buy. The reason is pretty simple, as I believe that among those many people who buy, there must be at least one person who expert & familiar with that stuff, isn't it sound logic? And sometime I even have a stupid thinking: so what if I have made a wrong decision or mistake? I'm not alone, there are lots of people up there who make the same mistake too! So just learn from the mistake loh, isn't eldery said "吃一堑 , 长一智" ? [ Experience is The Mother of All Wisdom ]... :)
Now I'm thinking, why not I get an advise from those who are expert first, or just bring them along with me when go to buy something(s) which I'm not familiar of? So if you have this alternative, will you still willing to be like me? Think that the promoter will be nice & honest to me (they may be)? Think that the so called "Majority" is always right? Will you behave like me?
a
We can never become smarter than before if we always pretend that we are smart (clever) at all times; we can never learn much things if we always pretend that we know everything; we can never be updated if we always affraid other people might sneer on us of being so out-dated. In short, we are not multi-talent, so we must dare to ask & kine to learn from other people!
Beautiful vs Ugly
Let say you are in a hurry to find a love partner (whatever reason), and you are now in an appointment to meet up with 2 girls (guys) at a place at the same time. You stop walking, when you have reached a distance, which you still able to see the full figure of the 2 girls (guys) clearly. You have a short observation on them without their notice, so you can make a final decision to proceed with or to escape from date. Following are the possible results of the observation: ~
a
1. Both of them are beautiful (handsome)
a
a
2. One is beautifu(handsome) & one is ugly
3. Both of them are ugly
a
From the 3 situations [ (1),(2),(3) ] above, in which situation you are more likely to proceed with the date or in which situation you are more likely to escape from the date? I guess most of us will never have a long hesitation to proceed with the date if we are in situation (1), or to escape from the date if we are in the situation (3). However, we may need a while of consideration if we are in situation (2). Is it right? Well, this may reflect that us human like the beautiful and dislike the ugly, love the good and hate the bad, happy to be rich and sad be poor...etc
a
So how about you? What are the criteria or requirements will be in the consideration when you are looking for a "White Snow Princess" or "Mr Right"? She must be charming, beautiful, slim and sexy and etc? (Or he must be charming, handsome, athletic, macho and etc?) .
a
I do believe now-a-day there been a big change in our thinking, perception & insight. We no longer only care on the external look when looking for a love partner, we take account on their internal gentility, attitude, behaviour, interest, family background & etc too. Hmm, does it meant we have even more choosy and picky on our love partner?
a
Anyway, I'm sure that most time the external look still at the first place to be considered & evaluated, follows by other criteria & requirements. Why should physical look supersede the others? Isn't all human being are creations of the so called "GOD", then each individual must have its unique & special. But why those who with beautiful face or body shape tend to be more attractive?
a
What is so different between the "beautiful" & "ugly"? I think they should be the same. Do you know why? Okie, I used to call "ugly" as "simple". You will know why if you ever tried to draw the portrait of a human face, isn't an ugly face is easier & simple to be drawn compare to a beautiful face? Between you must always heard people say that "Simple is Beautiful" (简单是美)? So what a conclusion you can make?
a
Since, Ugly = Simple
And Simple = Beautiful
So, Ugly = Beautiful
a
Well, you see? From the mathematics equation above, "Ugly is Beautiful"!
Naive cum Innocent
Last Sunday after 1/2 day work, I went to have my lunch at QQ Cafe (Pelita Commercial Centre) with Fern, Ching, & Ching's KL friend. Whilst we were enjoying our meals, we heard the below conversation between a waiter (a teenager) & a female customer who just sit a table next to us: ~
a
a
待应: 要来点吃的吗?我们的手工板面不错哦,里面有放两粒水饺和两粒肉丸。
食客: 就这样而已?没有啦?
待应: 唔---还有一些些的树子菜和江鱼仔。
食客: 好, 那有干面吗?
待应: 当然有!
食客: 里面放什么?
待应: 有一些些的肉碎.......
a
Waitera a: Any order? our hand-made noodle is not bad, with 2 dumplings & 2 meat balls.
Customer: Thats all? No more?
Waitera a: Err----still got some manicai (sayur cangkuk manis) & dried fishes too (ikan bilis).
Customer: Okie, how about "Mi Kering"? (dry noodle)
Waitera a: Of course we have.
Customer: Got what inside the noodle?
Waitera a: Got some crushed meat......
a
Nothing wrong with the conversation above actually, just the way the waiter promote the hand-made noodle is too funny & naive, isn't it? 4 of us just can't hold our laughes after the waiter has walked away to make an order for the girl. Oh~so poor, it caused me choked by the chilli sauce somemore... : (
a
Well, in my opinion, it is not a proper way to promote a bowl of hand-made noodle. He was just too honest & direct; he suppose to skip up certain information, I think? E.g the quantity of dumpling & meat ball added into the noodle? If you are the waiter, how would you promote the same bowl of hand-made noodle?
Speechless & Wordless Communication
The ability in socialization has an influence either directly or indirect onto our personal life, career & future. You will found that we may hard to survive or may even suffering if we lack of advantage of socialization in the modern time, which everything is emphasis on the teamwork.
a
It may be personally important, especially for those who are active in their daily life or those who trying hard to escape from the boredom. They need to socialize with the known person or strangers in order to bring them more fun, happiness, & excitement. Unless you are having autism, or you may no need to do this.
a
a
It plays an important role too in term of career, especially for those who are in the professions of education, marketing, front-line services, mass media & etc. If you are self-employ, you are in a need to learn how to socialize with all kind of people too, with the purpose is to build up a social relationships & networking, in order to promote yourself, your product & your services to the public which may one day turn into your potential customers crowd.
a
Anyway, we must at first equiped ourselve with a good & effective communition skill prior to build up a healthy social relationships & networking. But some time, no matter how well are we in the communication, we may still be in trouble & so frustrated especially when talking with a person who seem mindless & annoyance . I hate to communicate with the person who has the following characteristics:
a
Type 1
A: Can you tell me Toyota is from which country?
B: Made in Japan.
A: Don't lie lah please! which country?
B: Believe me, is from Japan.
A: You think Im stupid)?!! Come on don't play play, which country?
B: Ok-ok, made in Korea.
A: Can you be serious? Don't lie lah, Im not stupid, k?
B: ............... [ saying in silent mode: Idiot! ]
a
This kind of person keep asking us a question, but never want to accept & appreciate our answer(s). I just wonder, if they don't believe us or they still think that they are smarter, what the point they come to ask an advice from us? They tend to behave like an idiot!
a
Type 2
A: Do you know what is BRIC stand for?
B: I don't know. A: You must know one, tell me please.
B: No, I don't know.
A: Come on, don't like this, tell me.
B: I really I don't know
A: Why you so selfish, tell me lah!
B: I swear I don't know
A: So shit, I know you know, tell me now!
B: Ok-ok, is British, Romania, Indonesia & Cuba.
A: Don't simply say, I know you lie.
B: ............... [ saying in silent mode: Kanasai! ]
a
Type 2 qutie similiar to Type 1, as they seem not believe us, but still approach us to have an advice. But they think we are GOD, who know everything; or may be they think that we are selfish, never want to care or share?
a
Type 3
A: How many sibling do you have?
B: 3 brothers 1 sister
A: What are they doing now?
B: Both of them still studying.
A: How about your dad & mum, do what har?
B: My dad is doctor, mum is housewife. How about you?
A: ......[ look here & there ]......Have you done your homeworks?
B: Yup. Can tell me a little bit about your family?
A: ............ [ look here & there, pretend not listen the query ]
a
This kind of person seem so selfish & secret, they love to hear & get to know of others' personel stuffs or privacy, but never willing to reveal theirs one to other people. In short, you shouldn't hope that they will share you even a single shit, as they only wanna be a good listener.
a
Type 4
A: Have you take your lunch?
B: Yes, eaten.
A: What you order?
B: Chicken rice & apple juice.
A: Nice ah?
B: Quite delicious, like it very much.
A: Where ah?
B: XXX cafe.
A: Where is the location?
B: Center Point, next to XXX supermarket.
A: Who is the owner ah?
B: Heard people called him Along.
A: Does he a local people?
B: Don't know.
A: Doest he married?
B: I think so.
A: How many child does he have?
B: Don't know.
A: Where did he stay har?
B: ............[ saying in the silent mode: busy only with your own business lah! ]
a
I think they read too lots of detective novels, so they tend to "interrogate" someone as a person who involved in a criminal. Or they seem like wanna explore others' properties, in mandarin we call it "问家产"! They can have a series of non-stop questions which derived from the first question they asked or the first answers we gave. To avoid this happen is to not simply answer their question(s).
"Thank You"
Do you know how to say "Thank You"?
In what kind of situation there is a need to say "Thank You"?
Do you just keep silent even though you know that you must say "Thank You"?
a
Quite sometime ago, I went out for dinner with Fern & her friend, Hwei Chen. After dinner we hang up in Parkson Grand (Bintang Plaza, Miri). I wonder why, whenever they go to Parkson, Watson & Gardiant are the must visit place, even though they don't have any intention or mood to buy any thing. Let back to the main point...
a
Of course most time they did buy some girlish stuffs, and of course I have toFern's bills are paid by me (sometime only lah...don't wanna spoiled her mah...:p ). As usual after paid the bill & get back the change from the cashier, I used to say "Thank You". Who know Hwei Chen look at me with her rounded eyes & asked me loudly & curiously: "Why you say TQ to her? You pay her the money hor...". Before Im in time to answer her question, Fern added: "Yaloh, why you say TQ?" Me: "............!" If you are in my situation, would you say "Thank You" to the cashier?
a
a
Some people think that it is not logic for us customers to say "Thank You" to a casher, as we pay him/her the money, by right a casher should say "Thank You" to us customers, as he/she earn our money. Actually the reason why should we say "Thank You" to the casher is very simple, but us customers just tend to be so ignorent & innocent, never want to find it out "why"? May be just like what Buddha has said, the word "I" or "Me" (我) has makes us become so selfish, only thinking of our own good & neglect the feelings of others; or again the "Customer is Alway Right" or "The Customer is The King" has makes us spoiled? Or may be we tend to think & analyse thing(s) laterally instead of bilaterally? [ Don't forget, a coin always has 2 sides, the head & the tail ]
a
aA
An example, If I drop you a comment into your post entries / blog, most people will agree that you should thanks me; then, should I thanks you? Of course, but for what? ...... Nothing, just for giving me a chance to left a comment into your post / blog, thats all! So now, can you understand why should we say "Thank You" to the cashier? Just because of he/she provides us the product(s) or service(s)...! If you still think that not logic or proper for us to thanks the cashier, it is fine, say "Welcome" instead... : )
