Marudi, Baram Trip

Im conducting an One-Day Health Screening Campaign in Marudi, Baram. It was a join project with the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP, Marudi). I have to go there a day before the campaign date (21st Oct 2007), as it was held in the early morning, 7:30A.M.

20th Oct morning, I received a call from the travelling agent, told that all flight schedules were cancelled! OMG...what the hell is? 1st time using the MASwings Airline (MAS Sister Company), but came out with such result......Im so dissappointed.

What to do? Change to use boat express service instead. After finished work at 1:00P.M, Im have to rush to the Miri Port (Boat Express Terminal) at Kuala Baram to catch the 2:00P.M. boat express, but not in time, as the distance is around 25KM from my office, somemore we astray on the middle way... lolz. Finally we arrived the port safely at around 2:15P.M, and departed to Marudi by last boat express (3:ooP.M scheduled).

Too boring & nothing to do I think, so took a photo on the toilet bowl during "ShiShi"in the toilet in the boat express...Wah, shiok~~~~hehe :p

After around 2 hours 45 mins journey, finally we arrived the Marudi Boat Expres Terminal. So tired, so we quickly went to Hotel Zola, check in & have rest in hotel room.

Next day morning, campaign started at sharp 7:30A.M. We have to stop our works for a while, as the reporters from "SinChewJitPo-星州日报" & "Miri United Daily News-美里日报" request to have a group photos for their articles.

We finished our phlebotomy task at around 10:15A.M. All together 48 headcounts registered. We had a group photos before go for lunch at 11:00A.M (Oop, should be a late breakfast???)

Marudi is just a small town, with few shoplots only. The life here would be quite simple I guess...as no shopping mall, no cinema, no other entertainments, the only attractive point here would be the Taman Tasik Marudi.

I had called the MAS hotline to confirm the flight schedule, so if any change, we at least in time to change to use boat express again. Luckily the operator told that flight is in the schedule. We took the last fligth (15:50P.M) back to Miri.
