Goodbye 07 Welcome 08

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 H
a

Time past by just like a thunder, is time to say "Goodbye" to Year 2007 which will reach its end very very very soon (another 12 hours) and "Welcome" to the new year 2008 which we thought that it would be our new beginning with new hopes & dreams... :D
a
If you are just like me, think that year 2008 is a new beginning; perhaps you & me aren't 100% correct. Only those who not serious in life, who like to delay jobs & duties, who failed to plan the future, or who lack of self motivation, initiative, discipline & management...etc will think such way. Otherwise we always can have a new beginning at the next second, next minute, next hour, next day, next week, next month or to be exact, at any time. Anyway we will never be late if we wish to have a new beginning...! Of course we need an immediate "Action" to drives us onto the journey of the new beginning, so that we can meet with our wishes & dreams sooner or later. a
a
Wishing you a Happy New Year 2008, may you be well & happy...cheers!!!

Tough Life

a
Money never enough to support our daily expenses, especially with the raised of the price in everything, it becomes an extra financial burden to us. Day by day, month by month, and year by year, life becomes tough, tough & tough, it never seem turn into better even we have tried to improve & enhance it. New Year 2008 is coming, any better suggestion to reduce such financial burden so we can live better than ever?
a
1. Work harder?
The problem is as an employee, is it possible that we can receive higher pay by working harder? Very unlikey, unless we are in the marketing & service line (e.g Sale Representative or deal with Direct-Sale), otherwise we are more likely to have an increasing workloads by without any salary increment. I rather work smarter than work harder.
2. Do few part-time jobs to maximize the income?
Not really a good idea, as you may dying of tiredness you will need to sacrifice your freedom & time being with your loved one on your works.
a
3. Do more Over-Time (OT)?

It may works, but bear in mind: If Employers themselves work OT, they claimed that they are serious with the business; if employees work OT, they claimed that the employees are slow motion or less efficiency in doing job(s)! So please never OT unless it is necessary!
a
4. Money saving?

Money already no enough for daily expenses, then where the extra money comes from for saving purpose? O.K, just assume that we do have extra money to be saved in bank account, is it safe? No, is risky, as if the inflation has comes & causes the currency depreciation, your RM10K no more equal to RM10K, but less, for sure you will be suffered & cry with no tear.
a
5. Having investment or establish own business?

But some predict that there might be an Economy Crisis in Year 2008, and those who currently been employed are advised not to have any wild action like quit the recent job & become a Boss, it is risky. But some says never try never know & no pain no gain…of course you can have a try at your on risk, nobody will bother your business!
a
6. Financal Planning?
Ya this gonna be the best choice. But the problem has raised, during my 15 years in the schools (from primary school, secondary school, high school to university), I never been taught the knowledge of effective financial planning! So where to start? I have no idea. The only thing I did is read more books on this topic, hope that if not become an expert, at least equip myself with the basic financial knowledge...such as plan every expenditure, monitor the cash flow (income & outgoing cash), monitor the debt (loans, credit card) and blah blah blah...Aii...theory always easier than practice!

Kena Saman... >$<

Oop! What a bad luck I had today? I have been fined for not displaying the parking coupon this afternoon. I just visited a clinic for marketing purpose not more than 20 minutes time, some more it was raining outside (of course just a tiny rain...:p), I wonder why the servants of MCC (Miri City Council) are so hardworking & serious in their duty, gave me a "saman" in a raining day? Sigh~~~I also wonder why how can I forgot to display the parking coupon?
a
a
Because of forgot to display a 42 cents parking coupon, it has results in received a compound at fine of RM20. Anyway if payment made within 14 days from the compound issued date, 25% discount to be given becomes RM15.... >$< ..... T_T
a
a
a
a
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a

a
The above is newspaper cutting from See Hua Daily News (dated 20 Dec). MCC is having a headache with the abolishment of the use of 1 cent coils in year 2008! With this abolishment, less than 3 cents to be zerolize, more than 3 cents but less than 8 cents to be count as 5 cents, however more than 8 cents to be count as 10 cents.
a

New 42 cents Parking Coupon with Scratching-Style
(1/2 an hour for Blue Zone; 1 hour for Green Zone)
a
The selling price of one parking coupon by MCC is at RM0.42, this meant with the abolishment of the use of 1 cent coils, MCC will have to re-set the selling price at RM0.40, but this seem to defeat the impose of 5% government tax on the coupon, which is equal to 2 cents. So MCC manages to sell min 2 pieces of coupons at one time (so 84 cents can be round to 85 cents?) instead of single piece of coupon. But Im curious & wondering, they do sell coupon in single piece? Isn't the coupons sold in 10 pieces per pad at RM4.20? If so what the 2 cents are they worried about? Anyway, Im not familiar how the system works, it might not as simple as what we saw & what we tought...!
a
In Miri City, the parking space is categorized into 2 zones: Green Zone & Blue Zone. Parking fee at Green Zone is 42 cents per hour, however Blue Zone is 42 cents per half an hour. Isn't the charges too expensive? Im not really sure, but for me quite lah... :p If MCC really having a trouble with the above abolishment & going to round the figure to RM0.40, then it would be a good news (new year gift) to Miri Citizen; or else to re-adjust to a higher figure (e.g RM0.45 or more?), then great shit, Miri Citizen's life standard is upgraded it wound be another burden to Miri Citizen!
a
Old Daily Parking Coupon (RM5.25) with Tear-Style
a
The above is the picture of Daily Parking Coupon at RM5.25, it can be used at both Green & Blue Zone. In year 2008, the Tear-Style coupon will be fully replace with the Scratching-Style coupon, this is to prevent the citizen from re-used the used coupon to cheat the MCC's servants. Please look at the coupon above, will you believe if I tell you it is an used coupon?

Chinese Books Exhibition

Yesterday lunch time (after lunch), I went to have a look at a small scale Chinese Book Exhibition, which was held at the ground floor of the Miri Library. The exhibitor is “Du Yi Book Store” (读意书局), a book store from KL.
a
a
a
Needless to say, my target always more on the books of management, business, commercial, financial & motivation categories. My eyes keep on looking here and there to search for my favour books…Yeah~~~ just a very short moment…I found it! Yes, again, the books written by Wilson Lim were in my eye sight!
a
This short visit at the book exhibition spent me RM136.00. I bought 5 books, err…should be 4, as buy 4 free 1 (from the 5 books selected, the one with cheapest price as a free book). Below are the books I bought:
a
1.《点醒~发现人生财富的108个秘密》--- 林伟贤(Wilson Lim)
Wilson Lim had a talk on this topic somewhere around May 07 in Miri Boulevard Restaurant, I & Fern were there with him. Between he is having the 1st “Money & You” course with Miri citizen & Bruneian (also participants from other divisions) in East-Wood Valley Golf Club, which cost RM3, 000. (if not mistaken).
a
a
2.《商业系统》--- 林伟贤(Wilson Lim)
Wow, great & what a surprise? FYI, Wilson Lim just had a talk on “Commercial System” on 11 Dec 07 in Imperial Hotel, but I have missed it…T_T…(related entry). Now his book “Commercial System” was in my hand un-expectedly!
a
a
3.《创意点亮生意》(Creativity Brightens Business) ---林伟贤(Wilson Lim)

4.《砍掉成本》(Cost Down) --- 李践

5.《学会走商路》--- 古敏 (Free Book)

a
I spent quite lots of money on buying books in year 2007. I don’t mind, as long as I learn & gain new & extra knowledge which is not in my professional field; some more Pak Lah has announced early of year 07 that income tax payers can enjoy the income tax deduction up to RM1,000 a year (if not mistaken) for the purpose of buying books, magazines & other reading materials! Cheers~~~ :D
a
a
~ Sigh, Sigh, Sigh ~
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All these while Im either using company or Fern's sister (Ching) PC for online & blogging purpose. Of course it is not proper to use company's PC for personel purpose (some more at working hours le...); Bad news is yesterday Ching's Streamyx line seem has been temporary terminated by the Telekom (same happening to the phone line). Mmm~~~not paying Streamyx & Telekom bill(s)??? So, I have to blog in my office during working hours again! :p

Results from Blog Hopping

I just realized that it has been a week I didn't log in my Yahoo account. When I log in yesterday morning, more than 250 mails pending for reading. Of course this was the result from the blog hopping. As normally if I left a comment(s) in a blog, I'll make sure that the check box of "follow-up comment via mail" is being ticked prior the comment submition.
a
I don't know if you also have such practice? But I think this is always a good & recommended practice for us bloggers, with the following reasons:
a
1. We normally only left comment(s) in an entry / post that we are interested with, via the follow-up comment(s) , we can roughly know which reader or blogger have the same interest. One day we may interested to head on to their blogs.

2. We sometime may expect a reply or an useful feedback from the blog's author (readers) especially on the comment or inquiry we have left into those informative entries / posts.
3. Sometime our comment(s) may be useful to blog's author (readers), with the follow-up comment(s) we will know if they need further information which require our reply.
4. Based on the follow-up comment(s), we roughly will know how is the popularity of an entry or a blog.
5. Of course, we will know too which blog is worth for us to re-visit in the future, of course are those with replies & updates. The reply shown that the blog's author does appreciate our visit... :p
a
When you are doing the blog hopping, found that some of the entries are interesting, you may want to leave a comment for them; but before you do this, please make sure you know the right place to drop your comment. Anyway Im not going to further elaborate on this, you know why? Please head on to Apple if you want to know the reasons. With the additional point, you may noticed that some of the blogs got the following button at their sidebar:
a

My blog is worth $1,693.62.
How much is your blog worth?

a
The above button tells us how much your blog worth? I found that if more readers drop comments to your blog, your blog's value will keep increasing compare to those blogs with no comment. In case you are interested to grab one (the above button) for your blog, please head on Business Opportunities Weblog.
a
a
Remark:
Hooosh, I spent almost the whole morning (sorry to tell, Im catching anaconda during the working hours...:p) to open, read, reply (if neccessary) & delete all those mails. Luckily I can direct read most of the follow-up comment(s) from different blogs' authors (readers) without leaving the Yahoo page (but some do required offsite click), otherwise it might delay the task.

6th Nationwide Annual Meeting

I have mentioned in my previous entry, that I in Cheras, KL to attend the company's 6th Nationwide Annual Meeting.
a
I arrived KLIA at around 08:45A.M (13th Dec) and I have to wait for a colleague (Fam) from Sibu at the airport for 5 hours. Anyway, Im not bored, as I have brought along Fern's eldest sister's labtop so I can online there; between I always bring along 1-2 books with me when travelling, so I can read whenever Im free & bored.
a
Fam arrived at around 13:45P.M, we took a taxi to the Crystal Crown Hotel which located in Kepong & around 1 hour journey from KLIA. We check in at around 15:30P.M & had a rest in hotel room til 17:30P.M.

She is a nutritionist at Taiping Diagnostic Centre, I met her one in Ipoh Diagnostic Centre last year in May.
a
The meeting starts at sharp 19:30P.M & finish at 23:15P.M. The meeting's agenda as below:

a
We all were hungry after the meeting, so before get back to the hotel, 5 of us (me, Ms Sin, Chiam, & another 2 Malay colleagues who have the same name, Shikin) went for supper at BRJ Cafe, located at Wangsa Maju. I ordered a plate of "fried maggie mi with chicken" which is quite delicious & famous! Sorry no photo(s) to share, as a blogger perhaps you should know why... :p
a
Next day morning (07:00A.M), before check out, we had our breakfast at hotel's restaurant, and had few snapshot at hotel lobby before leaving between 08:30 - 10:30P.M. We say "sayonara" to each other, as everyone has the different destination to go! I gonna miss you all... :)
a

Me, Fam & Mok took a taxi to KL Sentral, Mok was later left to Midvaley alone as she had booked a hotel room near that area & her friend(s) will looking for her; while Fam met with her boy friend, Jeffery at KL Sentral & left to KLCC for hotel room check-in, and I went to Bukit Bintang alone by monorail, but will later meet with Fam & Jeffery again at Sungai Wang Shopping Mall. I buy nothing for myself, only a sweater bought for my girl friend, Fern.
a
16:15P.M, it was time for me to take a monorail to KL Sentral & later to KLIA by bus, to catch the 20:40P.M flight to Miri. I had my dinner at Asian Cafe in KLIA, "Nasi Lemak Special" ordered.

a
I found this machine at a conner of the check-in counters, it was for "seft check-in" purpose, especially for the passager(s) with only hand luggage. I never know there is such service at KLIA until now......shame oh! Anyway, to check-in with this machine, you must have the E-ticket number!

Talk by Willson Lim

Some one has inserted 2 pages of posters to my car wiper last Saturday (8 Dec) at Pelita Commercial Center, just outside the Servay Supermarket. When I took it closely to have a look, wow great, Im so supprise, it was a piece of information regarding Willson Lim's (林伟贤) talk on Commercial System!!! I like this chinese speaker very much, if you had read my old entry on KLCC Book Festival '07, you will know that I have bought few books writen by Willson Lim.
a
a
The talk was held on 11th Dec 07 (yesterday night 7:30P.M) in the Imperial Hotel. The entry ticket was sold at RM15 each. It would be a great talk, but I can't attend it yesterday night, so sad & I can't believe that I have missed it...T_T
a
A
Between, Im flying to Cheras, KL to attend a meeting among the company's management & staffs this morning by MAS (6:20A.M flight). Will stay over night at Crystal Crown Hotel, and return to Miri on 14 Dec, 20:40P.M flight.

Happy Birthday Fern...!

Mmm~~~quite few days not update my blog already, as recently not really have chance to use my company's PC for online purpose (I have not in the mood to update my blog as well...hihi). Yes, Im having 2 days leave on 7 & 8 Dec 07, just to accompany Fern, as 7 Dec was her 28th birthday.
a
Anyway we didn't really have time to have fun on these 2 days. You know why? Because of another 2 persons are going to celebrate their birthday together with Fern. They are Fern's 5 year old nephew (Wing Leng - 29/11) & 11 years old niece (Yin Yin - 3/12). The birthday party was on 8 Dec evening.
a
a
7th December 07
Even on leave, but I still need went back to office to settle some minor things. Later went out for lunch with Fern at new opened "十哩香肉骨茶" outlet, which located at Center Point, Miri (nearby Sun City). Hmm, not really nice, especially the pork was hard, not soft enough. Somemore quite expensive, RM32.40 just for 2 persons, include the drink.
a
a
a
a
After lunch, we went to Hot Cross Buns to order a birthday cake (cost us RM107) & later to Glorial Hotel to order several dishes for the next day birthday party. We ordered fried mi, fried bihun, roasted chicken, yam basket (with mixed vegetables), pork ribs (排骨王), tauhu (招牌豆腐) (cost us RM249).
a
At night time around 9:15P.M we went to RexBox for kara-ok with Fern's colleagues. We sang til 1:30A.M, woosh~~~so sleepy, I almost dossed up in the kara-ok room...hihi
a

Fern & I ~~~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY FERN, I LOVE YOU!
A
a
8th December 07
In the morning, around 9A.M, accompanied Fern went to Miri Dialysis Centre (Malaysia Red Cresent Society - MRCS) for walk-in interview. While waiting at outside, I saw a pity bird (swallow - 燕子) torturing under a palm tree. But sad, I wish to help but I can't, as I worry of the bird flu... :p
a
a
a
We later went to buy some stuffs for the party, such as paper plates, package drinks, of course the birthday gifts too and so on...and then rushing back home to help Fern's mum make the "pok piah".
a
Around 5:30P.M, we went to Glorial Hotels & Hot Cross Buns to pick up the dishes & birthday cake which ordered yesterday. And then rushed to Marriot Resort Hotel to take few more packs of cakes which ordered by Fern's sister in-law (she works here).
a
We reached home at 7:15P.M, we were late, the birthday party almost to start. It was a shame, all the guess are waiting for us, the VIP, haha! I think they must be quite hungry as all dishes with us mah... :p. Party finised at around 10:30P.M. Im quite tired & sleepy that time.
a
Sorry, suppose there are lots of photos to share here, but sad, at the moment I cant upload it yet. My Olympus Digi-Camera can't be switched on since 9th night, at the same time, unable to transfer the photos from the camera to the PC...seem a problem with the camera focus lens.
