Naive cum Innocent

Last Sunday after 1/2 day work, I went to have my lunch at QQ Cafe (Pelita Commercial Centre) with Fern, Ching, & Ching's KL friend. Whilst we were enjoying our meals, we heard the below conversation between a waiter (a teenager) & a female customer who just sit a table next to us: ~
a
a
a
Waitera a: Any order? our hand-made noodle is not bad, with 2 dumplings & 2 meat balls.
Customer: Thats all? No more?
Waitera a: Err----still got some manicai (sayur cangkuk manis) & dried fishes too (ikan bilis).
Customer: Okie, how about "Mi Kering"? (dry noodle)
Waitera a: Of course we have.
Customer: Got what inside the noodle?
Waitera a: Got some crushed meat......
a
Nothing wrong with the conversation above actually, just the way the waiter promote the hand-made noodle is too funny & naive, isn't it? 4 of us just can't hold our laughes after the waiter has walked away to make an order for the girl. Oh~so poor, it caused me choked by the chilli sauce somemore... : (
a
Well, in my opinion, it is not a proper way to promote a bowl of hand-made noodle. He was just too honest & direct; he suppose to skip up certain information, I think? E.g the quantity of dumpling & meat ball added into the noodle? If you are the waiter, how would you promote the same bowl of hand-made noodle?

Name Me A Nickname

"阿狗" (Ah Dog), "阿猫" (Ah Cat), "肥仔" (Fatty), "母老虎" (Fiery Lady)............
a
I believe everyone got at least a nickname, and we like to create a nickname for a person based on his or her physical look, behaviour, attitude and etc...some nicknames may be sound nice but some others can be so uneasy to hear...it just depent on how is your feeling & impression over a person.
a
Some people like or tend to create a nickname for a person, they think that it is funny enough & can make lots of laught, but he / she may so offensive whenever other people call he or she a nickname...i use to call such person a " 卖鱼佬" ! (I hope you know Mandarin) Can you catch it? No, i think you don't! Nevermind, then do you know what they doing? Yup you are right, they just "Selfish"!
a
a
I have lots of nicknames, but only manage to share my top 8 famous nicknames here. My first nickname is "黄梨头" (pineapple's head), it was given by my dad whilst Im studied in Primary School. Do you know that my father was my (and my other 4 siblings') personal barber during the childhood? He was the one who cut my long hair & whenever he cuts my hair, he must complain my hair are either too rough or too thick, which he described it as "Pineapple's head"!
a
When Im studied in Secondary School, I started have haircut in a saloon. I used to visit a saloon of my classmate's sister. Damn! She was just like my father, complained the same on my hair type, she even claimed a shaver which normally can be for few persons's usage, but she has to dispose it after one time usage on my head...isn't it be exaggerated enough?
a
a
2nd nickname, "长肚子" (Long Tummy), also given by my father... :( Hmm...Isn't he seem had too many of prejudices againt me? I don't really like this nickname, you know why? Because of according to the eldery, those people who have "long tummy" tend to be a lazy person!!! I don't think that is how my tummy look alike, even though I agee that Im a 3-in-1 person: lazy, tend to delaying job(s) & slow motion! :p
a
a
I still remember my first day in Transition Class (Secondary School), when teacher(s) called my name, most of the classmates (whom I didn't know even one at that time) were laugh loudly. As my English is Shun Mee, not many people can pronounce it correctly, especially the "Shun". Probably you will pronounce in the way you pronounce the word "Sun" too, right? So it sound so weird, some heard it as "酸梅" (salty plum) or "蒜米" (Garlic) into their ears. The next day, these nicknames have spread widely to other classes, just like what we called "一人传十,十人传百"。So these are my 3rd & 4th nickname. [ Even my chinese name “逊美”, seldom got person who can pronounce it correctly! Do you? ]
a
a
Whats worst was some other friends just like to play with my name, they were about too creative & naugthy, they called me "熟面" (Instant Snack Noodle) & even sang a song "Sumi jelly manis, Sumi jelly manis......". I believe it ever being your favorite junk foods in the past (maybe during your childhood?) or maybe even now the Rechie Yan's "I don't wanna leave you, I'll be always love you..." is still suitable to reflect your feeling on them? These being my 5th & 6th nickname.
a
a
Due to Im quite tall in my childhood & teenage (compared to other childs or teenages who same age with me), so some relatives & neighbours used to called me "长脚" (Long Leg) or "长豆" (Long Bean). I admit that Im tall (I think so), but not as tall as they described, there were other childs or teenages who taller than me, they just didn't realize it because of the different in the proportion of the physique, by which Im tall + thin, while others were tall + plump...lolz. Very obvious, my 7th & 8th nickname derived from my physical look.
a
a
Of course now-a-day my friends & relatives or other people who know me rarely use the above 8 nickname to address me, so it was just a past tense to me. However, in university, my coursemates or schoolmates used to call me "Amei". Please don't misunderstood, not the singer "阿妹" but "阿美"! Do you know, there is a song special for me, let us sing together..... :)
a
a
a
阿美阿美不要再彷徨 少女的青春短
今天今天你不要倔强 快快做我的新娘
虽然我没汽车洋房 吃的粗茶又淡饭
只要你陪我作伴 包你白白又胖胖

Happy Chinese New Year

The year 2008 is called Brown Rat Year! Well, to understand how is your luck in the term of health, wealth, career & love (or marriage) throughout the Brown Rat Year is not to ask me, but to ask the trustworthy "FengSui" master(s) or you may search it out from the internet ...^_^.
a
Although we are in the Brown Rat Year, I wish those who recently being employed & "makan gaji" like me can try the best to escape from the Rat-Race environment as soon as possible and take more efforts to fight for the the financial freedom!
a
a
The come of the Spring indicates that is time for Chinese population to have Chinese New Year celebration. I wonder why my mood & feeling to the CNY is not as strong as or as happy as the past few years. Perhap the "AGE" has becomes a barrier or a limit that depress my mood & feeling to go further more. Unlike the childrens, they have not much thing to worry about; they play, they eat, and they laught (of course sometime they do cry) throughout the CNY, and the happiest moment is when they have "AngPaw" to feed their pockets.
a
How about me? I have to spend lots of money to buy this & buy that. Do you know that I have 1 nephew & 2 nieces who are too cute that I couldn't find a reason not to give them the "AngPaw"? I wonder if this year I will need to do some charities? Don't mis-understand please, what I meant is gambling lah....:p
a
A
I will fly back to Kuching by this evening (6:15P.M flight) to have my 5 days CNY holiday + leave (6th to 11th Feb). Well, in these 5 days, family gathering & friend gathering is the must. I hope I have time & chance to hanging in the Spring & Boulevard Hypermarket too. Hmm, how about the Sushi King? Do they open during the CNY?
a
a
Lastly, wishing you all a very HAPPY & PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR.

The Thought of CNY Greeting Card

Received a Chinese New Year greeting card from my direct sale (Amway) upline last few days. (Don't worry, Im not going to promote you any direct sale products or services, Im just a "sleeping member"... :p ). I like the design of the greeting card, it is unique!
a

a
Nothing, just recently Im reading a book by Wilson Lim, "创新中国". It is all about how we can have a new innovative or creative idea in creating or doing a thing. One of the idea is to combine 2 items become 1 item for the convinient & on demand, liked the greeting card I mentioned above, it is a combination of a greeting card & a calender.
a

a
Well I can't remember since when I never buy or send Chinese New Year greeting card(s) to friends or relatives during CNY, I think it should be since Im studied in university if not mistaken, and since that I seldom receive any greeting card too! I don't know why now-a-day Im not in the mood to do such warm & meaningful thing; Im not sure too whether it should be considered as one of the cultures / traditional / customs of the Chinese population to do greeting card distribution during CNY?
a
a
The role of the greeting cards (hard copy) are slowly take over by the e-Card (soft copy). As most of the e-Cards are available on the internet at FOC, which ready to send and can reach the receiver(s) /destination around the world via E-mail within few seconds only. Compare to the hard copy, it save both cost & time; it is so convenience with no time limit, you can send an e-Card at anytime, even at very last minute (if there is no disturbant like Streamyx line down) !

Funny Toon

Nothing to do on 25/9 night (Moon Cake Festival), so as usual hanging at Imperial Mall with Fern. Walk, walk, & walk, there are few cheap stuffs (Lady's T-shirts) at a corner, it really cheap, in between RM9.90 to RM11.90. Im not really interest in the price (hey, you know lah, worry later go home with empty wallet mah, :p ), but more interest in the cute designs.
a
The designs are so cute, I have captured some of them with my Olympus DigiCam:-
