Orchard Street

Orchard is the shopping paradise in Singapore, lots of shopping centers are found along the Orchard Road, for the examples: the Ngee Ann City, CenterPoint, Paragon and etc. Ok, it is impossible for us to visit all the shopping centers, so what we can do is just sightseeing around, look at the shopping centers & other buildings' architectural designs.

One of the shopping malls @ Orchard, Takashimaya (attached to Ngee Ann City)

From Orchard, we walked, walked & walked until we reached the Dhoby Ghaut. It was already around the noon time, we were not hungry anyway......we hanging around & photography at Istana Park before we took a bus to Bugis......

Bugis Street

Bugis Street, is another shopping paradise in Singapore, where one can experienced 2 different kinds of shopping mood or feeling at one time and at 1 location. One can either shopping in the modern air-conditional shopping malls (e.g Bugis Junction & Bugis Square) which located at original Bugis Street, ............

............or shopping at a maze of lanes lined with stalls that selling the "pasar malam" goods (like the Petaling Street in KL) which is located at new Bugis Street (the largest street-shopping location in Singapore). Well, the things sold here are cheap compared to other places in Singapore, just like the "pasar lelong"......:)

Street-shopping @ new Bugis Street (like Petaling Street in KL)

Bugis Street

The Guan Yin Temple (观音堂) at Bugis, believed is the oldest & the most lively temple in Singapore, is often crowded with devotees, prayers or tourists most the time. Hence there are lots of shoplots along the street towards the temple which selling the Buddhist products.

There is a big gold Buddha statue stands on the street towards the temple too. Peoples who pass by sure will put their hand on and touching the Buddha statue, with the hope it will bring us both the wisdom, health, wealth & luck......
